What is a story without romance? What is a good romance without some drama and condemning looks from the gossipping fellow ball enjoyers? Come write your own book about the lives of the "better folk" of the regency period in the manner of Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. Make the elders blush with your uncouth braveness or sneakily wrap the poor love interest around your fingers. Just remember, all is fair in love.
Good Society is a collaborative regency rpg that seeks to capture the heart, and the countenance, of Jane Austen’s work. It is a game of balls, estates, sly glances, and turns about the garden. At least on the surface. Underneath this, just as in Austen’s own novels, it is a game of social ambition, family obligation and breathtaking, heart-stopping longing.
The system uses no dice and is highly reliant on players own active participation on the role playing action.
