Kainuu, the Northeastern region located on the "waist" of Finland has a rich and vivid ghost story culture. Some of the tales have their origins in the fact that Kainuu is located on the Eastern border and has been a battleground for centuries. The horrors of the real world have been transferred into oral history in the form of ghost stories. But typically for Eastern Finland, horror stories often contain humor as well. Hauntings are still seen and heard even in the modern cities. Welcome to listen to some scary stories - and to learn, how to protect yourself against ghosts!

Content warnings: Some of the stories are sad and scary. Some of the images can be a bit scary, too (classic art but with skeletons). / Jotkin tarinoista ovat surullisia ja pelottavia. Jotkin kuvista saattavat myös olla hieman pelottavia (klassisia maalauksia, joissa luurankoja).
