Have you ever wondered how a medieval knight fought? What they wore into battle? Elävä Keskiaika ry, The Living Medieval Times society, will present the arms and armour of medieval knights and soldiers from Europe and the Levant, followed by an honourable tournament to determine who is the most cunning and skilled warrior of the 12th century. The show suits for adults and children. Afterwards, we will be presenting our weapons and armour to handle and try on and answer any questions about high medieval combat. This is for grown ups from 16 years old onwards.

We propose a 1 hour session, with 30 mins dedicated to presenting the arms and armour of medieval knights followed by a tournament, then 30 mins of informal show-and-tell of weapons and armour as well as supervised weapons demonstrations and handling.

The presenters Erik Jellyman and Ellie Bennett has been doing reenactment for about 15 years. Their UK group did do crafts and living history but the primary focus was military impressions and combat demonstrations from small tournaments to large battles. They were leading large contingents in the field and leading training in all levels of combat within the national society. They also have been organising a fighting group to the Battle of Hastings reenactment. Here is a great opportunity to also hear about reenactment and swordfighting activities both in the Kingdom of England and in Finland!

Program will be held in English.
