"Amateurs talk strategy, professionals talk logistics." -Omar Bradley
What are the realities you need to take into account when planning on invading your neighbouring star system at different levels of technology in fiction, and what are some of the counter measures the defending side can and should take to repel any and all invaders?
These are some of the questions we will tackle in this talk, along with some realities of space warfare, such as how can you hide in space, and what kind of technology do you need to be able to do that, and what are the limitations, and how is space warfare changed when a setting has easily available faster than light communications.
Come listen if you are interested in discussing and finding out more about KKVs, deceleration burns, and off-plane cold sites for example, or just willing to find out what these terms even mean.
This talk while discussing warfare, will not include any descriptions of violence against biological things, at most we will be discussing violent actions against machine and space ships of the opponent, but most of the talk will focus on technology, taking orbital physics into account in planning, and so on.
