We often play powerful heroic characters as able-bodied and able-minded humanoids. How does diversity fit in RPGs and how is it represented in games that reflect our own world? We need and want to escape to thrilling and-or safe environments to explore humanity and beyond.
Disabilities should be present and played in games as any other ability would be played. Disabilities are not weakness, but maybe a special feature of the character you play - not a negative penalty per se. Same applies to neurodiversity variation.
Join the discussion and bring your opinion to the table. How have you applied disabilities in your characters, as a game master or as a game designer? How have disabilities, autism and neurodiverse aspects been represented? How do RPGs' mechanics adapt to this?
