What is a supercomputer, and what are they good for? What do we mean by "artificial intelligence"? In this interactive talk, we will present the greatest computer installations in the past, present and future, along with their purpose, outlook and impact for scientific research. Moreover, we will cover the meaning of "artificial intelligence" in practice today, and what can be expected from it in the future. Finally, we will discuss the use of these (supercomputers, AI) as story-elements in fiction as well as in role-playing games. Dr. Pekka Manninen is the director of LUMI Leadership Computing Facility, the home of EU's flagship supercomputer, and an adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki. Dr. Maarja Bussov is a researcher at the department of physics in the University of Helsinki, working with machine learning as applied to astrophysical simulation data.
