What is a supercomputer, and what are they good for? In this interactive talk, the greatest computer installations in the past, present and future, along with their purpose, outlook and impact for scientific research will be presented. Moreover, we will cover the meaning of "Artificial Intelligence" in practice today, and what can be expected from it in the future. Finally, we will discuss the use of these (supercomputers, AI) as story-elements in fiction as well as in role-playing games. Dr. Manninen is a development manager at CSC, the national supercomputing center in Finland, and an adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki.
