When hi-tech meets high magic; in a fantasy world where the advancement of technology was accelerated due to the prevalence of magic, things are not too much unlike our world. Stuff still breaks, the trains run late, there's way too much traffic downtown, your spellbook can still run out of space even though you've gone digital, and your infernal patron sends you monthly reminders about renewing the subscription to your pact.
And sometimes a megacorporation invents a highly invasive ritual spell that could not only expose millions of people to identity theft and surveillance but also expose any number of government agents and intelligence workers to criminals and terrorists.
dungeon.exe is a straightforward high fantasy technothriller where you play adventuring troubleshooters in a modern fantasy world. Kinda like if that Tom Cruise fellow from the Mission: Impossible movies was an elf wizard. The game uses D&D 5th edition rules with material adapted from Unearthed Arcana's Modern Magic articles and the d20 supplement Urban Arcana.
