Women power in Middle-earth

What kind of active female characters are in The Lord of the rings and The Hobbit movie trilogies? Are they suitable as role models to a modern audience? This lecture is based on the lecturer's dissertation scrutinizing these questions. The lecture will show the survey created for the topic and the analysis of results and will be also introducing lightly four active female characters and their most important moments in these trilogies. At the end there is a possibility to discuss with the results and disclose your own opinion of the topic.
