Ancient Egypt has been a constant inspiration in science fiction and fantasy. Just think of Stargate or the Mummy movies. But did you know that the ancient Egyptians themselves wrote fantasy stories about their old royalty? And the tomb robbers from the middle ages also wrote fantasy stories to warn their colleagues about dangers that loomed in the tombs. And even the earliest Egyptologists were writing fiction about their discoveries. One could even say that we never stopped.
