Romantasy or Romantic Fantasy?

Romantasy as a genre has exploded in popularity over the last five years. But fantasy books with prominent love stories have existed for much longer. Is this simply a rebranding of the existing subgenre of romantic fantasy, or is something new emerging? In this presentation, we’ll explore what defines romantasy and whether it deserves to be called a genre of its own.
