Your lives in the village of Vintiver have turned drastically, as people from the village have turned up butchered by an unknown attacker. First it was livestock, lately more and more people. Some of the villagers have started blaming the "knife-ears" that recently were in the area, as there were disagreements - regardless that those were settled amicably. Rumour about a Dalish curse has started to spread. Now you have encountered a wounded elven woman, a Dalish it seems, that seems to be babbling about some great evil.
