Cosplay on a Greyscale

I wish to present the discussion about Cosplaying from «tainted» media and how to navigate ethical problems arising from that. «Tainted» media is media created by problematic people who are for example vocal about discriminating certain groups of people, or who have been involved in exploiting workers, etc. My main focus would be on Harry Potter and shows produced by Amazon. But other examples will be included such as Minecraft and Five Nights at Freddy’s I will present the ethical challenges of interacting with these media, about boycotting, how cosplay comes into this and its impact and how we can navigate this and people who we disagree with. I hope to bring a wider context to these issues and if there is time i want to allow for a little discussion about the subject. At the end I hope to show that it is not all black and white (or light and shadow) when it comes to moral questions concerning cosplay.
